Weimar had been sought as a fugitive after an arrest warrant was issued by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office in January. He was tracked by U.S. Marshals to Cuba, then to Cancun, Mexico. There, on Feb. 12, Mexican authorities removed him from his motor yacht and deported him to the United States by putting him on a flight to Houston.
Weimar waived extradition from Texas. He was booked into the Sarasota County Jail this morning. No bond has been set. His arraignment is scheduled for April 1.
Weimar was once the king of halfway houses in Alaska as the owner of the Allvest Corp. He served a six-month sentence on a guilty plea to federal charges in the Alaska public corruption investigation, then retired to Sarasota last year.
