Fire destroys East Anchorage mobile home

Editor's note: Because of a production error, an earlier version of this story described an East Anchorage mobile home fire that occurred on April 10, not Aug. 10.

------------------

Fire destroyed a double-wide mobile home in Muldoon Wednesday afternoon, according to an Anchorage Fire Department spokesman.

The home's owner called 911 about 2:10 p.m. to report the blaze at 2221 Muldoon Road, in the Glencaren Court mobile home park, said fire department spokesman Al Tamagni.

The first fire units to arrive saw smoke pouring out of the home and quickly doused the flames, Tamagni said.

An oil lamp that had been knocked off a table set fire to the home, which was considered a total loss, Tamagni said.

There were no injuries to the mobile home's occupants and pets, nor the firefighters who responded, the fire spokesman said.
