Alyeska Resort announced Wednesday it will remain open for weekends for skiers and boarders through May. Lift tickets will be discounted to $40 for adults, $35 for students, seniors and military members, $30 for children ages 6-12. The resort plans to operate Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 30.

Wednesday, Alyeska reported 140 inches of snow at the top of the mountain, with 84 inches at midway and 8 inches at the base after a season that delivered some 500 inches of snowfall to the mountain top.

Purchasers of a 2011-12 season pass can ski for free this May.
