Alaska State Troopers said the woman sustained "incapacitating injuries."

Troopers took a call on the case just after 12:30 p.m.

Officers went to the home on Heidi Drive. As they approached the woman, the moose charged and was shot.

The woman was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.

Palmer is 42 miles northeast of Anchorage

The incident was the second this month in which a person was injured by a cow moose with calves in Southcentral Alaska. A cow moose on May 18 attacked a girl on a bicycle in Anchorage. The cow had given birth to twins a day earlier. Anchorage police shot the moose.
