The moose appears to be a cow and was first seen as a calf. State wildlife staff members say the moose seen on Tuesday is likely the same animal.

A man on his riverboat told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner he saw the moose on the banks near where boaters saw it in the fall.

The paper reported debate over whether this moose is an albino and says the most recent description includes pink eyes and nose. State wildlife biologists say albino moose are not common.
