The woman, who police did not identify, had been biking along the trail near Lyn Ary Park in West Anchorage. She fought the attacker, stopping the attempted rape and dialed for help as she ran home at about 3 a.m., she told police.

The woman suffered minor injuries. She could describe the man only as a skinny adult wearing dark clothing, police said.

Anchorage police are reminding summertime walkers and cyclists to travel in pairs, carry a cell phone and tell friends and family members where they're headed.
