-- Jake Valdez collected three hits, three RBIs, three stolen bases and two runs Thursday, leading the Anchorage Bucs to an 8-2 win at Mulcahy Stadium, in a non-league game against the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Eagles.
The Bucs broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the sixth and extended their lead with four runs in the seventh. Davis Morgan and Logan Davis each notched three hits, and the Bucs finished with 11.
-- Brady Hohl's two-run single in the top of the 12th inning lifted the Anchorage Glacier Pilots to a 5-3 win over the Mat-Su Miners Thursday, in a non-league game at Herman Brothers Field in Palmer.
-- The Pilots lost one of their top recruits to this week's Major League Baseball draft. Kennyn Walker of Central Arizona was a first-round pick by the Chicago White Sox and won't be coming to Alaska. Walker hit .402 this season for Central Arizona.
