-- Jake Valdez hit an RBI double in the top of the 11th inning on Monday, then scored on a sacrifice fly by B.K. Santy as the Anchorage Bucs broke into the ABL win column with a 4-2 victory over the AIA Fire.
Connor Kendrick picked up the pitching win with 2 1/3 innings of one-hit relief.
-- Good news for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Monday as GM Jon Dyson announced that Keenyn Walker, the first-round selection of the Chicago White Sox has decided to not sign with the American League club but will fly north and join the Pilots.
Walker, a fleet, switch-hitting outfielder from Central Arizona College led his club to the 2011 JuCo championship with a .402 batting average, 50 RBIs and 65 stolen bases.
Walker still has until Aug. 15 to sign with the ChiSox. He's expected to be in the lineup tonight in Palmer against the Mat-Su Miners.
