South High's Elliott Bauer has been named Alaska's Gatorade track and field athlete of the year.
The Class 4A state champion in the 200 meters, 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, Bauer will join the UAA track and field team next season.
Bauer set the state record in both hurdle events at last month's state championships, running the 110 hurdles in 14.64 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 38.58.
