Annual Road Lottery in Denali National Park and Preserve. Entries are being accepted online through the month of June at www.recreation.gov. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $10. Lottery winners will be billed a $25 Road Lottery Fee at the time of the drawing. Winner will be notified via email. By July 15, winners will be posted at www.nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/road-lottery.htm. Entrance to the park will take place Sept. 16-19, weather permitting. 400 vehicles per day may use their permits to travel the Denali Park Road. On-Location Photography Workshop, July 22-24, Retired Anchorage Daily News photographer Jim Lavrakas will show students how to make the best of outdoor locations and natural lighting to make dramatic and emotive portraits. The workshop includes instruction, water taxi transportation from Homer, meals, rustic accommodations in large, platform wall tents, and trips to Seldovia and Red Mountain.
