Authorities led by federal marshals have arrested a man in Anchorage who's charged with murder in Memphis, Tenn.
A news release from the U.S. Marshals Service says 30-year-old David Burrows was found and arrested at 2265 E. 56th Ave. on Tuesday and is being held pending extradition or other court proceedings.
Burrows is charged in Memphis with first-degree murder and perpetration of aggravated kidnapping in the death of Marquita Adams. He's accused of beating Adams to death and leaving her body in a vehicle on May 15.

MEMPHIS MAN WANTED FOR MURDER - CAPTURED
A fugitive wanted by Tennessee on outstanding state charges for First Degree Murder and Perpetration of Aggravated Kidnapping has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by the U.S. Marshals today. In addition to U.S. Marshals, this team included the Anchorage Police Department Special Assignments Unit, Homeland Security Investigations and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Anchorage, Alaska.
David Burrows, 30, was being sought on a warrant issued by Shelby County, Tennessee, charging him with First Degree Murder and Perpetration of Aggravated Kidnapping. David Burrows is accused of brutally beating to death Marquita Adams and leaving her body in a vehicle on the morning of May 15, 2011. Adams' body was found in the car parked outside Burrows' home in Memphis, Tennessee. The Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide due to multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
On May 27, 2011, the U.S. Marshals in Memphis, Tenn., began providing assistance to the Memphis Police Department Homicide Division in efforts to locate and apprehend David Burrows. Through their investigation, they were able to determine Burrows had fled Tennessee and traveled to Alaska. With continued efforts and investigation by the U.S. Marshals in Anchorage, Alaska, Burrows was located and apprehended in a residential area located at 2265 E. 56th Ave. David Burrows is currently being held in the Anchorage Correctional Complex-East pending extradition or other court proceedings.
