AROUND THE HORN
-- Ryan Ford scored on an error in the top of the 10th inning Friday to give the Mat-Su Miners a 3-2 win over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in an Alaska Baseball League game at Mulcahy Stadium.
Stephen Branca hit a two-run double in the eighth inning to account for the Miners' other runs, and Brandon Hedrick pitched the final 2 2/3 innings to earn the win.
-- Bryan Santy's two-run base hit highlighted the Anchorage Bucs' four-run rally in the top of the 13th inning Friday, and the Bucs grabbed a 4-0 win over the Peninsula Oilers in an ABL game at Seymour Memorial Park.
Bucs infielder Jake Valdez broke a scoreless tie in the top of the 13th inning when he drew a bases-loaded walk.
Neither team managed an extra-base hit, and the Oilers never advanced a baserunner past second base.
-- The Pilots and Bucs will celebrate the Fourth of July with a doubleheader Monday at Mulcahy Stadium, followed by a fireworks show and free giveaways. The first of the two seven-inning games begins at 6 p.m.
