AROUND THE HORN
-- The Anchorage Glacier Pilots got a two-run home run from Matt Vinson and a shutout from Christian Belleque in a 5-0 win over the Mat-Su Miners at Mulcahy Stadium.
Belleque struck out the final batter in a complete-game performance that included six strikeouts and a walk. He allowed four hits, only one of which left the infield.
Vinson's homer gave the Pilots a 4-0 lead in the fourth innin, and a sacrifice fly by Dustin Torchio built the lead to five runs in the seventh. Clay Cederquist accounted for the first two runs when he doubled and scored in the second inning.
-- The game between the Anchorage Bucs and Peninsula Oilers was rained out and will be made up as part of a doubleheader Thursday or Friday.
-- The Pilots and Bucs will celebrate the Fourth of July with a doubleheader Monday at Mulcahy Stadium, followed by a fireworks show and free giveaways. The first of the two seven-inning games begins at 6 p.m.
