JUNEAU -- A 19-year-old Haines man has been sentenced to 16 months of home confinement for trying to bring Ectsacy into the United States from Canada.
Dennim Craig Hagwood was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Juneau.
Judge Timothy Burgess also sentenced Hagwood to 750 hours of community service and five years' probation.
Officials say Hagwood imported 802 Ecstacy pills from Canada Nov. 9, 2010, via the Dalton Port of Entry outside Haines.
He was arrested by border agents that day, and has been detained since.
