The four-day meeting on the British island of Jersey concluded Thursday. The 2012 meeting is set to be held in Panama.

North Slope Borough officials and members of the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission attended this week's meeting.

Whalers say no significant scientific issues were noted that could affect renewal of their five-year quota.

Whalers say the meeting included a presentation by AEWC weapons improvement program chairman Eugene Brower on efforts to promote the use of more humane weapons among Alaska's subsistence hunters.
