AROUND THE HORN

-- The Peninsula Oilers widened their ABL lead to three games Saturday with a 6-3 rain-shortened victory over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at Seymour Memorial Park. The Pilots led 3-1 after three, but the Oilers rallied for five runs on eight hits in the fourth.

-- Mark Anderson struck out six in six shutout innings and Cam Kneeland hit a sixth-inning solo home run to lead the Mat-Su Miners past the Anchorage Bucs 5-1 at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer. The loss put the second-place Bucs three games behind the Oilers.

-- Remaining home games for the Mat-Su Miners start at 6 p.m., with the exception of next Sunday's game. That game is Fan Appreciation Day and the first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

-- With the American Legion state tournament at Mulcahy, the Pilots and Bucs both have today off.
