Peruski won the 10.5-mile Denali Park time trial in the morning and the 28-mile road race from Cantwell to the Denali viewpoint pullout on the Parks Highway. He finished the time trial in 38 minutes, 1 second and the road race in 1:38:38.
Second in both stages was Brant Schalk of Fairbanks (39:49 in the time trial; 1:39:16 in the road race).
Today, the eight competitors will race 51.3 miles from the Denali viewpoint to downtown Talkeetna. Friday is the Hatcher Pass hillclimb and Saturday is an 8-mile time trial from the Eagle River weigh station on the Glenn Highway to the finish line at Davis Park in Mountain View.
