The self-guided cruise through the city's botanical hot spots has a few rules. Don't bring strollers, pets, high-heeled shoes or anything else that might disturb the plants and the grounds. Treat the gardener's property as if it were your own -- a little better, in fact.

Tour hours are noon to 5 p.m. Each participating location will have a sign indicating "This Garden is Open." Visitors will find sign-in sheets to help the club get an idea of how many people are taking part. If you have a green thumb of your own, you can sign up to have your garden considered in a future tour.

Here's the list of participating gardens. More information about the Anchorage Garden Club is available at www.alaskagardenclubs.org/anchorageclub.htm.
