South wins in Oregon baseball tournament

Max Karnos yielded two hits and struck out six in seven innings Friday to lead South to a 9-2 win over Idaho in the American Legion Northwest Class A regional tournament in Roseburg, Oregon. Hayden Karnos drove in three runs on three hits and pitched the final two innings, Patrick Enslow added three hits and Cal McKin had two.

The tournament is a tier below the Northwest Regional Class AA tournament in Billings, Mont., which state champion Dimond played in last week. Dimond beat South twice in one day to claim the state American Legion championship.
