Chugach State Park Superintendent Tom Harrison says part of the Albert Loop Trail runs along the Eagle River.

This is where black and brown bears feed on the spawning salmon at this time of year, using the bridges and beaver dams as fishing platforms.

The trail has been closed during this season each year since 1997.

Officials say the trail will remain closed until bears go into hibernation. The reopening will be publicly announced
