East 5, West Valley 3 in tennis

In one of the most competitive meets of the tennis season, East edged West Valley of Fairbanks in a nonconference tennis meet, winning five matches to West Valley's three. Two matches needed tiebreakers, and East won both of those.

West 9, Juneau 0

Eileen Abbott and Katrina Brown fought to a 10-8 tiebreaker win to claim a 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 girls doubles victory and help West win every match Friday in a nonconference tennis meet with visiting Juneau-Douglas.
