In court papers filed Tuesday, prosecutors said they're working to finalize travel arrangements to New Mexico, where Bill Allen is serving his sentence. Prosecutors were to have made a decision on whether to call Allen by Wednesday but said they need until Sept. 30.

Allen was chairman of a now-defunct oil field services company who pleaded guilty to bribery and tax violations in a wide-ranging corruption probe that ensnared Alaska politicians, including Kohring.

A Kohring attorney filed papers last week signaling the defense's plan to call Allen.

Kohring's 2007 conviction was overturned due to prosecutorial errors. His retrial is set to begin Oct. 31.
