East 6, Service 3 in high school tennis

Three extended third-set tie-breakers featured two victories by Service, but East won one and turned back the visiting Cougars for a 6-3 Cook Inlet Conference tennis victory on Tuesday. In mixed doubles, East's Ryan Lee and Ellen Rumley won the tie-breaker to forge a 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 victory.

At boys singles 2, Service's Colin Ely rallied from a first-set defeat to win a second-set tie-breaker and in the third set take out East's Danny Krielkamp, 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 14-12. In boys doubles 2, William Ji and Gene Chung of South defeated Pia-yen Chiu and Sam Burgess, 1-6, 6-4, 10-8.

West 9, Chugiak 0

West ran the table on host Chugiak and barely permitted the Mustangs any leeway Tuesday in securing a 9-0 CIC tennis win.

The Eagles did not drop a set and allowed the Mustangs to win just 12 games combined in the nine matches.

Dimond rolled over Eagle River with a 9-0 CIC tennis win at Dimond on Tuesday, with Cole Fox winning a boys singles match 6-0, 6-0, and Katie Monus delivering a straight-sets victory in girls singles.

The closest Dimond came to losing a set was in Susumu Jones' 6-2, 7-5 win in boys singles. Two matches were won by forfeit.
