The latest request for proposals issued Tuesday has a slightly more limited scope of work than the one that was released earlier this summer and garnered no bids.
Questions about project management were among those struck from the latest solicitation.
A committee staffer has said the scope and timeline of the first solicitation might have been too aggressive.
Under the new request, a final report would be due to the committee by Feb. 15 -- two months later than the initial solicitation.
A status report would be due Jan. 15.
During the last regular session, concerns were raised about the costs of the medium-security prison, which is expected to open next year at Port Mackenzie. There was a fight about whether -- or at what level -- to include funding to allow the prison to ramp up operations. Money was ultimately provided.
The Legislature is scheduled to convene in January.
The request seeks bidders by Sept. 28.
