KENAI -- Recent heavy rains have resulted in a flood advisory being issued for the western Kenai Peninsula.
The National Weather Service's advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday. The Peninsula Clarion says the advisory includes the Kenai River at Cooper Landing and the Kenai Lake area.
The National Weather Service says heavy rains have caused a significant rise in the headwaters of the Kenai River. The Kenai River at Cooper Landing is expected to crest above flood stage on Friday at 13.95 feet.
