FAIRBANKS -- A 102-year-old Athabascan matriarch known for her museum-quality beadwork has died in Fairbanks.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports Hannah Solomon died a few weeks short of her 103rd birthday.
Solomon was also a social worker and one of the founders of the Fairbanks Native Association.
Last year, more than 300 people turned out for her birthday at the church where she was a longtime parishioner.
Funeral plans have not yet been announced.
