JUNEAU -- Alaska prison officials are looking to hire a security company to provide unarmed guards for the Goose Creek Correctional Center near Port Mackenzie before it opens.
Bids are due Tuesday. The Department of Corrections says the contract would run through February.
The department is seeking security for the facility after work hours, from 4:30 p.m. until 8 a.m., and 24-hours on weekends. It says the contract will go to the bidder with the lowest cost per hour for the security service.
