KENAI -- A brave brown bear is hanging out in a Soldotna neighborhood, right behind the police station.
The Peninsula Clarion reports there were six sightings of the bear one night this week, and police have fielded numerous complaints about the bear in garbage cans in the River View neighborhood.
The bear also knocked over a fence trying to elude capture.
The police will coordinate with state game officials on how to best deal with the bear.
