George Dongdong Jia, 43, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Ralph Beistline, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported.

In a plea agreement, Jia admitted selling a raw walrus tusk -- legal only for Alaska Natives to sell -- and a polar bear hide and black rhinoceros foot, which are also illegal to sell, to an undercover agent in 2010, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

He was sentenced for one felony violation of the Lacey Act and two misdemeanor counts.

Jia's sentence includes three years probation. He is required to forfeit all illegal wildlife parts that he possesses, and is banned from selling or possessing wildlife parts.

One of the Fish and Wildlife undercover agents working the case was from Alaska, said Assistant U.S. attorney Steven Skrocki, who prosecuted it.
