Parnell told an Alaska Oil and Gas Association luncheon he will take his case for changing the current tax regime to every corner of the state.
Parnell also addressed a study by an independent oil and gas consultant, which was critical of Alaska's oil tax structure but also found flaws in legislation proposed to change the system.
Parnell said the study confirms his position that changes are needed if the state wants more investment and production.
The consultant, Pedro Van Meurs, also criticized offering substantial tax credits for exploration but Parnell argued that these credits are having the desired effect and leading to more activity.
