FAIRBANKS -- Alaska State Troopers said a 4-year-old Delta Junction boy accidently shot himself in the leg with his mother's gun.

Troopers said the boy shot himself Monday morning after taking the .357 revolver from his mother's purse, which was hanging on a hook.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner said the child was flown to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage and was listed in stable condition.
