Thanksgiving food distribution programs planned

Food Bank of Alaska has announced the 2011 Thanksgiving Blessing meal distribution effort, set for 3-8 p.m. Monday in Anchorage and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the Valley. The effort aims to provide families in need with a Thanksgiving dinner that includes all the trimmings.

In Anchorage, choose the site that includes your home zip code. Please bring proof of your home address to the distribution center. In the Valley, choose the site closest to your home.

• Crosspoint Church, Burlington Coat Factory mall, Dimond Boulevard: 99507, 99511, 99515, 99516, 99518, 99522, 99523, 99540 and 99587.

• Faith Christian Community, 4240 Wisconsin St.: 99502, 99517, 99519.

• Central Lutheran Church, Cordova Street and 15th Avenue: addresses west of Gambell Street in 99503, 99510, 99512, 99513, 99520, 99524.

• St. Patrick's Church, 2111 Muldoon Road: 99504, 99509, 99521.

• Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2501 Maplewood Street, off Northern Lights Boulevard near Lake Otis Parkway: 99501, addresses east of Gambell; and 99508, addresses south of the Glenn Highway.

• Mountain View Community Center, 315 N. Price St.: 99508, addresses north of the Glenn Highway; and 99514.

• Joy Lutheran Church, 10111 E. Eagle River Loop Road: 99505, 99506, 99567, 99577.
