Homer man found dead at bottom of well

KENAI -- Homer police say a 71-year-old Homer man was found dead at the bottom of an open-water well.

KSRM radio says police identified the victim as Dennis Brian Novak.

Police say the well is 12 feet deep and 8 feet in diameter with a corrugated steel culvert.

The body was removed from the well by medical personnel from the Homer Fire Department on Monday afternoon. An autopsy will be performed by the State Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death.
