University to offer credential in mining

JUNEAU -- The University of Alaska system for the first time is offering a formal workforce credential.

The Juneau Empire said Rthe non-credit credential offered by the University of Alaska's Southeast Center for Mine Training focuses on entry-level production miner training.

The program involves 240 hours of working with certified instructors.
