Published: December 2, 2011

A former racer for the Alyeska Ski Club is now the club's program director.

Aaron Stiassny, who was born in Anchorage, replaced Paul Crews Jr. as the head of the Girdwood-based club. He's an experienced racer and coach who earned a bachelor's degree from Whitman College, where he raced collegiately.

He got his start in alpine ski racing with the SPYDER ski club based at Hilltop and from there joined the Alyeska Ski Club. Stiassny has worked for ASC for five years, going from assistant coach to head coach to program director.
