Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen says in a release that one of the injured, 61-year-old employee Gale Andersen of Cantwell, was flown Monday to Seattle for treatment of "significant burns."
Another employee, 26-year-old Samuel Allan of Cantwell, is credited with repeatedly going into the burning Chevron convenience store to make sure everyone was out. Ipsen says he was transported to Fairbanks for treatment.
Also injured were 70-year-old Judith Riley of North Pole, 43-year-old Mathew Atkinson of Fairbanks and 58-year-old Allen Glore of Cantwell. Riley and Glore also were hospitalized, and Atkinson was treated at the scene.
