Volleyball action begins Thursday at 2 p.m., and wrestlers hit the mat Friday at 10 a.m. All three events conclude Saturday.
Bethel, the defending 1-2-3A wrestling champion, has finished no worse than second in the last three state tournaments.
One of the top wrestlers for Bethel is Mario Kuqo, who was named the most outstanding wrestler at last month's Lancer Smith Memorial Tournament in Palmer. Host Nikiski, last year's runner up, will be looking for its first state title with the help of last season's state champion at 145 pounds, Kaden Spurgeon.
In volleyball, New Stuyahok will begin its 1-2A title defense with a match against Lumen Christi, the only Anchorage team competing.
Mixed-six defending champion Tikigaq isn't playing in the tournament, but runner up Golovin will take on Napaaqtugmiut in the first round.
