Late Sunday afternoon, troopers took a cell phone call from 29-year-old Scott Howe of Colorado Springs, Colo., who said he and 70-year-old Douglas Thompson of Willow were stuck in deep snow near the 2,500-foot level of Willow Mountain.

Heavy snow had already fallen and more was predicted.

Searchers reached the men at about 7:30 p.m. and transported them back to their vehicle by snowmobile.

Troopers Sunday night took a call from a companion of 24-year-old Joseph Travis, who said Travis was missing along the upper Kashwitna River.

Searchers found Travis just before 1 a.m. Monday and escorted him to the trail head. Troopers say he was cold and wet but in good health.
