Officers arrested Bryant K. Brown, 44, Thursday for two counts of terroristic threatening after the Nov. 22 and 23 phone calls.

Both times, the caller claimed that an explosive was in the Adult Probations Office on A Street, police said. The office was evacuated and searched -- twice -- with no bomb ever found, police said. Police and Alaska State Troopers later traced the calls back to Brown.

Brown, on probation for a minor drug offense, had a history of missing appointments with his probation officer, police said. He had a urine analysis scheduled Nov. 22 that was canceled after the first reported bomb. With the test set for the next day, Brown again called in a bomb threat, police said.

Brown was jailed Thursday and held on $10,000 bail, according to court records.
