Though not one of the biggest players on the court, South's Morgan Hooe repeatedly came up big during the Wolverines' run to a state volleyball title last month, and her strong play earned her Gatorade's player of the year award for Alaska.
The 5-foot-5 junior racked 35 assists in the championship match against Dimond and finished the season with 521 assists, 98 digs, 62 kills, 30 blocks and 25 aces. Hooe's all-around presence helped the Wolverines win every set in a 25-0 season.
Hooe has done volunteer work with youth volleyball and the Special Olympics while maintaining 3.44 GPA.
