Alaska-themed Tattoos

Location: Our home in Anchorage, 01-29-2011 This photo was taken when our baby Jameson (who was born 16 days late on his Daddy's birthday, Jan 24) was 5 days old. The arm on the left is mine, and the arm on the right is my Husband, Aaron. We have matching arm bands that are the same design as our wedding rings, which are Alaska Soul Catcher design by Alaskan Jewelry maker Jerry Hill, which we got from the Rusty Harpoon here in Anchorage. The Arm bands were done by Jake at Body Piercing Unlimited here in Anchorage, who did a great job with the tribal design and replicating the design on the ring.

Falklands

In this photo taken on Sunday, March 4, 2012, old houses, some dating from the 1800s, are seen in Stanley, Falkland Islands. Falkland Islanders are still bristling over the invasion by Argentina 30 years ago, but they're not complaining about its aftermath. The April 2, 1982 invasion led by Argentina's dictators and the subsequent war with Britain launched a process that transformed the islands from a sleepy backwater of sheep farms into a prosperous outpost whose residents enjoy one of the highest per capita incomes in the Western Hemisphere.

The Falkland Islands are a little known set of islands off the coast of Argentina. The Falklands have struck oil, potentially pumping billions of dollars into their treasury. One downside is the potential for a major spill in seas where penguins, whales, seals and other marine mammals are drawn to unspoiled coasts.
