Ellis completed the 13-mile run in 43 minutes, 37 seconds to top a field of four open-class racers. Ellis raced with 16 dogs in harness while everyone else tackled the trail with 12 dogs.
In the four-dog class, Amy Maclean mushed four miles in 14:16 for her third straight win of the season. And in the ski-joring competition, Rebecca Knight covered four miles in 15:40 with one dog in harness, with her time topping those who raced with two dogs.
