Four-time Iditarod winner Jeff King of Denali Park was fourth in five hours flat. Tied for fifth after 50 miles Gerry Willomitzer and Kelly Griffin, who each made the run from Sheep Mountain Lodge to Eureka Lodge in 5:04.

Mushers take a mandatory five-hour layover at Eureka before their second run of 50 miles, which is followed by another five-hour layover at Eureka Lodge. Then they repeat the 50-mile run between the lodges to the finish line at Sheep Mountain Lodge at Mile 113.5 of the Glenn Highway, where a winner should arrive early this afternoon.
