The Cessna 206 went down about 10:30 a.m., troopers said. Tribal police officers, who responded by snowmachine to the crash site, said the plane went down less than a mile north of the village.

The pilot, 44-year-old Blaze Highlander, was the only person onboard when the plane crashed and suffered minor injuries, troopers said. The responders took Highlander back to the village clinic for an evaluation.

Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said the plane belongs to Bethel-based Yute Air.

The cause of the crash is unclear. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration were notified, troopers said.
