Police on Tuesday identified the man as Joseph A. Allen, 29. He is facing burglary and theft charges and is being held at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Police spokeswoman Cindee Brown-Mills told the Juneau Empire that at about noon Monday a 31-year-old woman reported that a man armed with a rifle had come into her house. She said she was pushed to the floor and the man pointed the gun at her. The woman fled to a neighbor's house.

Also on Monday, a 25-year-old woman had returned home and found a man in her house. She also fled.

In addition, a homeowner discovered someone sleeping in his garage. The man was gone by the time police arrived.
