Proposed standards for man-made shelters and cleaning were criticized by a representative from the office of Rep. Alan Dick, R-Stony River, for doing too much to tell people how to maintain their animals. ...
Annette Kreitzer, the representative's chief of staff, told the group Dick was concerned the rules, while in the best interest of animals, could land a lot of people into trouble.
"A lot of you are thinking about the animal and that's very nice, but I'm also thinking about the enforcement," she said. "I'm thinking about the poor sap that puts up a doghouse that's 3 millimeters less than regulation."
