BETHEL -- Five schools in Bethel, including the high school and the Lower Kuskokwim School District office building, are closed because of frozen sewer pipes. KYUK reported that Friday marked the fifth day schools had been closed. Superintendent Gary Baldwin said 800 feet of outdated sewer lines is in the process of being replaced. He said the sewer line system was installed in the 1970s and is out of date.
