• Statewide Economic Forecast luncheon: This annual event hosted by World Trade Center Alaska will be conducted in the state's three largest cities -- Tuesday in Fairbanks, Wednesday in Anchorage and Thursday in Juneau. The Anchorage event begins at noon in the Howard Rock Ballroom of the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel. Speakers include Jonathan King, principal and senior economist with Northern Economics Inc.; Aryam Vazquez, global emerging markets economist for Wells Fargo Country Risk Management Group; and Greg Wolf, executive director for World Trade Center Alaska and consultant for the U.S. Department of Commerce. • Julie Saupe, president of Visit Anchorage (Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau), will present a report to the community on how Anchorage's tourism business fared in 2011 at a luncheon meeting, noon-1 p.m., at the Dena'ina Convention Center. She'll also address ACVB's performance goals and look ahead at goals, programs and marketing efforts for 2012.
