Dan Vaughan, a former cultural anthropologist for the University of Washington, has donated his work to the Sealaska Heritage Institute.
KINY radio reported Vaughan worked in Hydaburg for 10 years, starting in 1974.
Zachary Jones with Sealaska said the research is important because it details decisions that people in Hydaburg have made in the last century.
The collection includes documentation dating from the 1920s, plus photos and interviews he conducted over the years. He also donated recordings of people speaking and singing in the Haida language.
