Bethel schools reopen after pipe problems fixed

Published: January 18, 2012

BETHEL -- All schools in the Lower Kuskokwim School District were reopened Wednesday. They had been closed for more than a week because of frozen sewer pipes.

KYUK reported all schools should be functioning normally, with the exception of Bethel High School, which might have limited plumbing.

Those at the high school will be able to use bathrooms at the district office, just a short walk away, but the temperature was minus 45 degrees Tuesday morning.
